Supramolecular solvents based on quaternary ammonium salts and perfluorinated compounds for dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction of phthalates

In this study, eight hydrophobic supramolecular (SUPRA) solvents composed of tetrabutylammonium chloride and tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide as amphiphiles four perfluorinated compounds (hexafluoroisopropanol, trifluoroacetic acid, pentafluoropropionic acid heptafluorobutyric acid) coacervation-inducing agents were developed. The SUPRA phase volumes determined a function individual concentrations the system components. extraction properties for phthalates from model aqueous solutions investigated their applicability sample diluents reversed-phase HPLC separations was tested. Finally, solvent consisting hexafluoroisopropanol applied dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction wastewater samples prior to analysis. Under optimised conditions, enrichment factors around 75. calibration curves linear (R2 ≥ 0.9965) concentration level between 1.00 50.0 μg/L detection limits in range 0.3–0.6 μg/L. recoveries developed method spiked 93.1–104.4%, with relative standard deviation values less than 7.4%.
